  4. Do you know that the Acorn machines only tests the first couple of Megabytes of RAM?
  5. Can you be sure your new 32MB SIMM is working? ;-)

  7. Well try this 1988 memory test program and find out if it all works!
  8.  
  9. It works on machines from RISC OS 3.1 to StrongARM 3.7.

  12. HOW TO USE
  13. ----------
  14. Pop open the Task window and drag the Next bar right to its maximum.
  15. Then double click on the Memtest application.
  16.  
  17. Then sit back and wait a minute or two while it performs a number of 
  18. tests on your RAM memory.

  22. Since Memtest only test memory that is in the Next slot, it may be a good
  23. idea to perform a SHIFT-BOOT up (ie hold down the SHIFT key while the
  24. computer boots) so that no applications are loaded and there is as much
  25. free RAM as possible before you do the above.

  29. If you want to get out of the Memtest program, then press ALT-BREAK if you've
  30. got RISC OS 3.5 or above.
